The Story
This story is made from the living matter of our consciousness.
Lune carries our feeling of life’s first kiss, a world where wonder is still alive, and our bodies remember how to listen.
She is DragonBack, one of a people born from the honest longing of our own memory. Sweetly and savagely woven into nature and each other, as the pulse is of embryo and mother.
Teon knows something different.
He has felt our shattering, the place where love and self-love become tangled in the noise of the mind.
And the very thing he believes might break him becomes the passage through which he is born anew.
Among the DragonBacks, dragons are not legend.
They are living movements within the fabric of the world. Currents that move through land and water, through the body, through the unseen circuitry of life itself.
And as Lune and Teon walk deeper into this living landscape, we begin to glimpse a way of being that lets the body finally exhale.

From the Author
DragonBacks began as sleepless nights infused with potent dreams of faraway lands that felt more home than the daily grind.
It started as Post-it note-covered walls, writing huts in the forest and writing sessions that left me in expanded states, pulsing with something so alive I felt crazed with responsibility to build and tell the story that was sewing itself through me, needle prick by needle prick.
It demanded a hollowing of myself, with bloody scoops so I could settle and commit beyond the raging distraction of what looked like life falling apart. Who knew re-ordering would be so violent, loving and necessary?
And here I stand now, with the valley of the tale populated with people, rituals and life arcs that sing with such life force I must continue to speak it to form and write it down, to pin it, so others may walk its paths.
It is written from the body to the body.
It will goosebump its way into your senses with stomach lurches and sighs. You are invited to melt into the pages as part of the telling, and it will be more than you can resist.
I know because I felt it while I wrote it, and those who walk the pages tell me so.
